A vinyl flooring crew built for South Denver homes
Vinyl has become the most practical flooring option on the market - fully waterproof, resistant to scratches, and close enough to real wood or stone that most people can't tell the difference at a glance. Above Grade Flooring, a family-run flooring and remodeling company out of Lone Tree, stocks luxury vinyl plank, luxury vinyl tile, sheet vinyl, and Forbo Marmoleum for homes throughout the South Denver Metro.
We buy from Shaw, Armstrong, Karndean, Mannington, Centura, Kraus, and Harbinger, which keeps our pricing close to wholesale and our inventory deep enough that most jobs can start within a week or two of your estimate.

Four types of vinyl, one right answer for your room
The term "vinyl flooring" actually covers four fairly different products, and we'll help match the right one to each room during your in-home visit.
- Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) - a wood look that's fully waterproof, suited to nearly any room in the house
- Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) - mimics stone or ceramic, with or without grout lines, ideal for kitchens and baths
- Sheet vinyl - installs in large seamless rolls, a strong fit for laundry rooms and smaller bathrooms
- Forbo Marmoleum - natural linoleum that resists bacteria, common in healthcare settings and eco-minded homes

Learn moreWhy vinyl holds up better here than wood or tile
Vinyl is the one flooring category you can put anywhere in a South Denver Metro home without worrying about the local climate or foundation type. Solid hardwood shrinks and gaps once our furnaces start running dry winter air; tile can crack over the seasonal shifting that our region's clay soils cause in slab foundations; carpet stains. Vinyl shrugs off all three, while feeling warmer than tile and quieter than laminate underfoot.
It also installs over almost any existing subfloor - concrete, plywood, and in some cases even old vinyl or tile - which usually keeps demo costs and project timelines down.

How we install it
Vinyl looks like a simple product to install, but the difference between a clean job and a sloppy one comes down to details: a truly flat subfloor, consistent expansion gaps around the perimeter, nosings cut to match on any stairs, and transition strips that actually line up. Our crews handle all of it, plus baseboard removal and reinstall and hauling away whatever floor you're replacing.

Vinyl Flooring - frequently asked questions
Everything we sell in LVP, LVT, and sheet vinyl is fully waterproof. You can mop it, let a bathtub overflow onto it, or install it below grade without worrying about damage.
LVP holds up to standing water; laminate doesn't. LVP also feels softer and quieter underfoot, while laminate has a slightly harder surface. For most South Denver Metro homes, we point clients toward LVP.
Often, yes - as long as the grout lines aren't too deep and the tile is still solidly bonded down. We check this during the in-home estimate and either lay vinyl directly over it or skim-coat first to flatten the surface.
Vinyl with a UV-protected wear layer holds its color for decades, even in a bright, south-facing room. The cheapest builder-grade vinyl can fade within a few years, which is part of why we don't carry the bottom tier of the market.
